Joe Nugent is an experienced Legal and Privacy professional. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional who has spent over twenty (20) years as an in-house lawyer advising clients across industries including: digital health, digital marketing, technology, cybersecurity, privacy, mobile, and social media. Joe is also a member of InfraGard (nonprofit, public-private partnership between U.S. businesses and the Federal Bureau of Investigation) and former KnowledgeNet Chairman for the Boston Chapter of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Susan Wise serves as the Chief Privacy Officer and Head of Privacy and Data Protection for Biogen. Susan joined Biogen in 2014 and established Biogen’s privacy office in 2015. Prior to taking on Data Protection in 2022, she developed Bigoen’s Risk Management program for privacy, IT and cybersecurity. In her career, Susan has served in a number of operational roles, in both business and technology functions, and across a number of industries. She holds an MBA from MIT Sloan.
Lee Parker is an English-qualified solicitor and privacy professional, focused on the biotech and pharmaceutical industry. He is Head of Privacy Europe, Canada & Partner Markets at Biogen, based in the canton of Zug in Switzerland. He is also Biogen’s EU, UK and Swiss Data Protection Officer. He is a member of numerous privacy working groups, including those at EFPIA and the EMA, through which he tries to help influence and develop European data protection law so that pharmaceutical companies can continue to develop and deliver new therapies and vaccines for patients. Lee originally fell into data protection mainly by accident, when no one else in a previous company wanted to do it, but feels it is the best professional “decision” he never made.
Jonathan Fowler led the effort at Consilio to develop, implement, and monitor a rigorous global Information Security Management System to ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 27001 and SOC 2, Type 2 controls. Working in conjunction with the General Counsel and CIO, he currently directs all IT efforts to comply with global, national, and state privacy regulations and frameworks such as GDPR, Privacy Shield, HIPAA, and various U.S. and German state-level privacy regulations.
Jonathan has extensive experience briefing both the senior executive team and board of directors on issues pertaining to Information Security and Cyber Risk Management. Currently, He assists the CIO in global strategic planning, to include technology risk assessments for potential merger/acquisition targets. He leads the company’s cross-functional Data Breach Incident Response team and regularly work with leaders of all operational groups to ensure that any security incidents are reported and mitigated in a timely manner.

Laureen brings over twenty years of experience in technology and information systems, with a more recent focus in cybersecurity. As a veteran executive in the industry, she has led relationship marketing, brand development, thought leadership, enterprise and channel sales, go to market and brand strategy, product management, and has consulted in many industry segments, including Government, Legal, Finance, Healthcare, Pharma, Biotech, and Manufacturing.
Laureen is the creator, co-founder and publisher of CISO Street, an online thought leadership community for cybersecurity leaders. She is also a speaker, moderator, and content creator for the site. In addition, Laureen manages the strategic advisory board for Kiteworks. Board members include Chief Security Officers, Chief Information Security Officers, Chief Compliance Officers, and Chief Privacy Officers of Fortune 500 companies.
